Betsy H. Musson

Betsy Musson grew up in Indiana in the Midwest and received her B.A. in Education from Purdue University. Following graduation, she moved to San Diego, CA, where she studied at San Diego State University and received her M.A. in Reading Education. She has been working in the Early Childhood field for over thirty years with experience as a public school teacher, reading specialist, preschool director, and preschool teacher program coach. She also has experience as a professional development trainer in Arizona's Quality First Program, a quality rating system for preschools in the state funded by First Things First. Betsy has been the coordinator of the Pendergast Family Resource Center since July 2017. Supporting parents and caregivers in their role as their child's first and most important teacher is what Betsy enjoys the most in her leadership role at the center.
Martha Vergara

Martha Vergara was born and raised in Mexico. She moved to the US as an adult and attended a community college, graduating with a general education in human services. She received her B.A. in Social Work from Arizona State University. She has been working with families since 2007 in different capacities as a case manager and behavior management specialist at the Arizona Children's Association. Her current position, Parent and Family Educator, allows her to teach classes and workshops for parents and caregivers. She also helps connect participants with local resources to help meet the needs of their families. She strongly believes in the mission of First Things First, which is to "partner with families and communities to help our state's young children be prepared for success in kindergarten and beyond."
Doreen Gutierrez

Doreen Gutierrez was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to Arizona in 1985. She has worked with children of all ages and started working from kindergarten to 8th grade in 1990 at the Glendale Elementary School District as a Bilingual Paraprofessional. She continued her work as an Administrative Secretary to the Principal in the Glendale District and later in the Pendergast Elementary School District. Currently, she works with families with children from birth to five years old. This will be her 7th year at the Pendergast Family Resource Center as a Community Outreach Liaison, and 33 years working in a public school district. Doreen enjoys connecting families with resources and services and, more importantly, loves working with the families she serves.
Rosa Rangel

Rosa Rangel was born in Mexico and raised in the United States. She has been working with children and families in our community for over eighteen years. She started her career working for Head Start at three-year-olds, and has gained experience in the passing years with all early childhood education age groups in various program structures.
Ten years were dedicated to working with the Greater Phoenix Urban League Head Start. She can't thank them enough for allowing her to grow. Rosa had the privilege to continue to practice her experiences with the Pendergast Elementary School District for 8 years as a Social Emotional Mentor for K-8 grade by providing self-management - regulating thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
This will be her first year as a Community Outreach Liaison with the Pendergast Family Resource Center. She is looking forward to providing quality services to the Pendergast community.
Tanya Monterroza

Tanya Monterroza was born and raised in El Salvador. She attended Universidad Tecnologica and obtained a B.A. in Business Administration. She moved to Arizona in 2008 and started her family. Tanya was actively involved at the Pendergast Family Resource Center with her daughter, who is now attending Sonoran Sky Elementary School. During this time, she joined the PFRC Parent Advisory Committee as a co-chair and participated for two terms. In 2020, she had the opportunity to join the Pendergast Family Resource Center team as an Office Assistant. Sho loves supporting the Pendergast Family Resource Center staff and families. She also enjoys teaching Music and Movement classes each month.
